Today, Martin is widely regarded as the father of the modern habit-tracking movement, specifically as it relates to goal achievement.
Prior to developing and authoring The Habit Factor®, Martin co-founded Home2Office Computing Solutions, Inc. (DBA C3 Networx). As former founder/COO, he’s been nominated twice for the Entrepreneur of the Year award (Ernst & Young) and has twice led his company to win the Better Business Bureau Torch Award for Marketplace Ethics. When does the course start and finish?
It is a completely self-paced online course . You decide when you start and when you finish. You have access to all the materials for one year! This is an experiential, self-paced course that should not be completed in a day or a week. It's designed to take you successively through 28 day tracking periods and the material is there to support you in your efforts and revisit as needed.

What is the difference between a goal and a habit? Can developing a habit be my goal?
This is a critical distinction. Habit is what drives goal achievement. Many goals and habit apps don't recognize this distinction. Goals are bigger -- completing a book, running a marathon. Habit channels the creative force to help you achieve your goals more quickly. Habits support the goal.
Do I have to read "The Habit Factor" book before I complete this course?
Absolutely not! This course is self-contained and no further materials are needed. Having said that, the book is available as a supportive tool if you wish to learn more about habit and using it as a force for goal achievement.
Do I have to download and purchase The Habit Factor mobile app?
Again, absolutely not. The course provides free tracking materials that will work just fine. The free app and paid app can be downloaded if you would like additional supportive resources and would like to use the digital functionality.
I don't have a "big" goal. All I want to do is develop and improve my discipline.
Great! Remember, having a BIG goal is not a requirement. Also, it's important to remember that DISCIPLINE IS A HABIT, and its development will take time. Using the UNSTUCK course to improve and develop your discipline will work wonders. The question for you will be, what behaviors will you specifically track in order to know you are strengthening your discipline?
Can I use this program/method/course to help me quit smoking?
Yes! While that is a very specific request that involves many times to a varying degree an addition to nicotine, this course can help because you are putting/placing you attention, intention and focus on a piece of paper and you are tracking your behaviors. RECOMMENDATION: Rather than tracking NO SMOKING, track something positive , such as running or jogging a few times a week. Or drinking a glass of water as a substitutive behavior each time you crave a cigarette and then TRACK THAT. Substitutive behavior! A habit is driven out by another habit just like a nail is driven out by a nail. Substitution is the key vs elimination!
I know what my goal is: to lose 40 pounds. But what specific habits should I track?
First of all, with all health-related goals, it's important to consult and review your goals and plans with your physician. Without knowing you and your particular situation, we can recommend a few habits that might help and have worked for others in the past. 1) Eating nothing but a salad at night, no later than 8pm, approximately three or more times per week 2) Drinking at least 6 8 oz glasses of water at least 6 times a week 3) walking or jogging at least 2 miles at least 3 times a week
I'm doing great on my habit tracking. Can I perform the behavior on additional days or do I have to stick to my selected Target Days?
You can certainly do more than your Minimum Success Criteria and Target Days! It is possible to get over 100% on your progress. Just don't try to overdo it. You want to set yourself up for success!
